A FirstServed Dedicated Server Hosting is a complete package of services, combined to make you life as easy as it should be. A lot of facilities that would require you to pay extra elsewhere are included in our default offer.

Speed where you need it most

Our dedicated servers are usually equipped with fast 15.000 rpm SAS disks. By using the ultra-quick SAS disks in combination with RAID controllers with write caching and battery backup you will be able to use a fast storage medium with redundancy taken to the highest possible level.

Complete autonomy

A dedicated server immediatly gives you a standalone server solution, not depending on other hardware. Where a virtual server still uses shared hardware, your dedicated server gives you a hardware platform that is 100% reserved for you. Combine this asset with server virtualisation and you have a scalable platform ready for any type of application.

Complete and 100% secure access

Each dedicated server hosting solution is equipped with remote reboot so you may restart your server by distance if a problem might arise. By using console redirection you may even take over the screen of your server if the operating system is causing trouble.

Server management by distance (Remote Server Management)

By using Remote Desktop or VNC on Windows or SSH on Linux you may manage your server as if it was standing on the desk next to you. Aside that, FirstServed offers you some additional services if your server causes trouble:

• Remote reboot: restart your server if it no longer responds, without physical intervention;
• Serial Console: contact your server any time, even if SSH no longer responds;
• BIOS Management: allows you to trace the hardware problems and reboot your server;
• Boot Loader Management: choose several operating system builds during a reboot;

Advanced firewall protection

Your dedicated server is protected by redundant active/standby high-end Cisco ASA firewall appliances. By default, FirstServed uses a strict security policy. On request we alter the firewall rules specifically for your server applications.

24/7 monitoring

The crucial software on your server (webserver, mailserver, ...) is closely watched by the FirstServed monitoring system. Our support team is immediately informed in case of trouble.

Hardware Support

The maintenance of server hardware and replacement of faulty parts is included in your hosting service. In contrast with some of our competitors you do not need to buy seperate support credits for every intervention, but all maintenance in included for free.

Software Support

You may ask FirstServed to do installations, configuration, upgrades and troubleshooting of your software. We offer support for a variety of operating systems and different application software. Configuration, maintenance and upgrades of server software are done by FirstServed, again for free.

Secure VPN access to the FIrstServed network

For administrative access to your server (management through Remote Desktop or SSH) can be done through a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. You decide which applications are accessible by the pubplic IP and which applications are only available through the VPN connection.

E-mail management

Incoming and outgoing mail is monitored by our spam and anti-virus filtering system so you and your recipients are protected from infected e-mail messages. Alternatively you may opt to relay internal e-mail traffic through our mailservers, so you may enjoy the benefits of FirstServed mail protection.

Server reporting and bandwidth statistics

Get reports and bandwidth statistics for any period in time for your server through our user-friendly selfcare website. The availability of your server on the internal network is also measured so you may see at a glance whether your server had downtime or not.
