Less load for your web application

When using a FirstServed Server Load Balancing solution we place one or mour load balancing machines in front of your application.
These machines will catch the incoming IP traffic, analyse it and determine to which machine it needs to be forwarded. The load balancers itself work as pass-through servers and have a minimal load. This gives another advantage: despite the low specifications they can handle an enourmous capacity.

Guaranteed availability

The load balancers are installed in a way that if one of the load balancers fails, the remaining machines handle the work. This disables a single point of failure.
During the configuration we ensure that the underlying load of the load balancers is also spread amongst the machines.

SSL offloading

If your application uses HTTPS, we will enable SSL offloading on the load balancers.
This means the encrypted connection ends at one of the load balancers so the load of the secured connection (the initial encryption) is moved to the load balancer and not the webserver that hosts your application, since it would stress the webserver as it needs to decrypt the SSL traffic.
By using SSL offloading we ensure the web server can dispose 100% of its resources for content delivery.

Flexible installation

Choosing for a FirstServed Server Load Balancer setup doesn't necessarily mean having loads of work to change your application. Our load balancers can spread connections based on various parameters, spread by user sessions, spread by machine load or capacity of the underlying servers.
To guarantee the performance of your web application we often advice you to isolate the databases on a seperate database server or in a cluster setup. Additionally it is also possible to offer static content through optimized Lighttpd servers
