OpenVPN

OpenVPN is a VPN technology based on SSL/TLS (Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security). SSL is often used for securing e-commerce websites through the HTTPS protocol.

This VPN technology uses security certificates to determine the identity of both members in the connection. Since OpenVPN uses the same technology as HTTPS it has the ability to work transparantly through firewalls, routers and proxy servers.

This technology can be invoked for both connecting physical sites (branches) as well as provide a secure connection for teleworkers.
