Standard included firewall services

All dedicated, virtual and co-located servers in the FirstServed network are protected by redundant setup firewalls, so malfunction of one of the hardware firewall units has no influence on the availability of your server.

Firewalls protect your server against hacking, attempts to gain unwanted access and certain network attacks such as DoS (Denial-of-Service).

Our hardware firewalls are set up to allow the most common Internet services: http, smtp, pop3 and ftp. Additional basic configuration is done without an extra cost.

Secured network access

Administrative access to the server is only possible by initialising a secure VPN connection to our network. This ensures access to your server is only possible for persons that have both the VPN connection details and your server details.

In addition, the VPN connection creates an encrypted tunnel over the Internet between your desktop and server. A VPN connection is without question the most secure way to establish a connection between your server and your workplace.

Dedicated Firewall services

If you require a seperate and isolated network setup detached from the FirstServed dedicated server network, you may use our dedicated firewall services.

Together with you, we will choose and setup a dedicated firewall unit for your servers.

This hardware firewall can be installed according to your needs and optionally serve as endpoint for the VPN connection between your office and the datacenter.

The dedicated firewall service ensures an excellent security and isolation of your network and gives the highest possible degree of security your network may gain.
