A FirstServed Dedicated Server Hosting is a total package of services, assembled with one goal: make owning a server easier for you. A lot of facilities that would require and additional cost at other suppliers, come standard at FirstServed.

Hardware Support

The maintenance of server hardware and replacement of faulty components are included in your hosting.

Software Support

You may consult FirstServed for the installation, configuration, upgrades and troubleshooting of your software. We offer support for several operating systems and dozens of application software titles.

Tailor-made firewall settings

Your server is secured by our two redundant Cisco PIX firewalls. Based on your needs and wishes we will configure the access to your server completely based on your demands.

Secured VPN access to the FirsServed network

For administrative access to your server (management by using Remote Desktop or SSH) we offer the added security of a Virtual Private Network connection. You choose which server applications are publically available and which applications will only be available by using a secure connection.

Remote Server Management

With Remote Desktop or SSH you will be able to manage your server as if you were standing next to it. Aside that, FirstServed offers additional management solutions in case you may experience server problems:

• Long distance reboot: if your server does not respond, restart it any time;
• Serial Console: you may contact your server at any time, even if your SSH software if not working properly;
• BIOS Management: this allows you to find the cause of hardware problems and eventually reboot the server;
• Boot Loader Management: you can select different operating systems at boot time.

Blazing fast internet access

Your Dedicated Server is installed at the Level(3) data centre in Brussels. You will dispose of super fast connections with the most important Internet Service Providers and network operators.

2 Gigabit Uplinks pro Server

Each Dedicated Server comes with 2 Gigabit network interface cards as standard, both redundantly connected to our Cisco Catalyst switches. With this setup, your server will enjoy the blazing fast FirstServed Gigabit network, and remain reachable in case a network card becomes unavailable.

Mail management

Incoming and outgoing e-mail is being monitored by our spam- and virus filters, so your recipients are safe from infected e-mails. Alternatively you may choose to route the traffic of your internal mailserver thru our mailservers, so you may also use the protection of our spam- and virus filters.

24/7 Networkmonitoring

The most important software on your server (website, mailserver, ...) is being monitored by the FirstServed monitoring system on a 24/7 basis. Our support staff will be warned instantly in case of trouble.

Reports and statistics

Our customer selfcare website allows you to retrieve reports and charts of your data traffic during a specific period. The internal connectivity of your server is also monitored, so you may see whether your server experienced downtime or not.
